Ruth's Blessing

Our curse continues   Every time we have a family events there is a terrible storm.  Sunday March 3 Ruth's blessing day was no exception.  Thankfully most of our family had traveled the night before because we woke up to quite the blizzard.

The blessing was beautiful and I hear that Ruth stared up at Bryce the whole time.

We feel so blessed to have so many amazing family and friends willing to drive through a raging snow storm to celebrate with us.  We rented the community hall near the church to have a Cafe Rio lunch after church.  Afterwards everyone made it home safely.

Ruth is already such an important part of our family.  She is such a calm content girl which we are thankful for many times a day.  She is totally in love with Eloise and Sam and glows every time they are near.  Her sparkle eyes draw us whenever she 'chats' and we can see that she is a special daughter of God.

February

Here is a summary of our February this year:
 Enjoying the warmer snowy weather

 Celebrating Valentines with some cookies.

This is Ruth's favorite spot to be, sleeping right in the middle of the action in her cozy swing.

Sammy Turns 3

We had a small celebration for Sam on his actual birthday which included the cupcakes leftover from the ones we made for his school friends.

Then on the weekend we celebrated with a larger family gathering.  Lonni/Tim, Darrell/Kelly and Grandma and Grandpa Salmon came.  We love having so much family so close.  I made Sam a dinosaur volcano cake which was super easy and he thought it was amazing!
The opening of the gifts.  Sam got a really special gift from Grandpa who built him his very own train table.  Sam has been standing there 'choo chooing' ever since.

Sam is a very special part of our family.  He and Eloise have become the best of friends and I love watching them grow together.  Sam is a real goof and is always trying to get other to laugh with him.  He loves his baby sister Ruth and takes such good care of her, she lights up every time she can hear him in the room.  Love you Sam!

New Year's Parties

We headed to Medicine Hat for some New Year's celebrating.  Our visit overlapped a little with Grandma and Grandpa Harvey's Christmas visit, so Ruth got some quality time with Great Grandpa Harvey.

Charlie is a real celebrity and you can see here his job is quite overwhelming with everyone yelling 'Baby Charlie, Baby Charlie!'.

Leanne organized a fishing game for the kids New Year's party.  Each one got to fish down the stairs for a couple prizes. This was so much fun that the cousins were still playing fishing days later.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

After the kiddos went to bed the adults enjoyed some Chinese food and some minute to win it games, and for the record the Palmer's were the champions.

Christmas

Grandma Palmer took such good care of us over the holidays.  She made Sam and Eloise their very own loaves of bread and shared her ipad all week long.
Eloise was sick all night long Christmas Eve with a fever and vomiting  thankfully it did not last long and with some drugs she was able to enjoy Christmas morning.  Bryce set up the tree train we bought for the kids to see Christmas morning Sam was thrilled it was magic.
Ruth enjoyed laying by the fire and listening to all the action.  It was a special holiday.

Welcome Baby Ruth

Our baby Sparkle finally arrived December 18 at 6:20 pm weighing 9lbs 15oz and 23 inches long.  She was a healthy beautiful baby with lots on dark hair.

 First Bath.
We have been reading the book Aligator Baby to the kids lately and so when they came to meet Ruth for the first time Bryce played a little trick on them.  He bought some stuffed animals and wrapped them up like babies and uncovered each saying 'Those are not people feet' 'That is not a people face' 'That is not a people baby' Until he reveled baby Ruth 'That is a people baby, you found the right baby'.  It was fun to see their faces worry that we didn't really have a people baby.

It was bitterly cold the day we brought home Ruth and she was not too pleased having to be all bundled up.
We had such a cute reception party waiting for us.  Welcome Baby Ruth we are so blessed to have you as a part of our family.

Preschool Pictures

We felt like major suckers but when we saw their school photos they were too cute to pass up.

Spooky

Carving our Haloween pumpkin.
 Nice legs Sammy!
It was super cold and snowy this Halloween so our streets were fairly empty which was nice because I felt alright just leaving our candy bowl on the step and so we could all go door to door.  The kids were so cute as Super Why and pink Rainbow Dash.

Weezy Girl Turns 4

The party started this year with a little Wrestlemania!

For Sam the wrestling continued all night with anyone who would take him on.
 The opening of the gifts...

and the traditional PINATA!  This year it was a spider version.

Eloise is such a special sweet girl.  She is always so thoughtful of others when we talk about what she will spend her chore money on she often suggests presents for others.  We are always surprised how patient she is with Sam and how she includes him in her play.  We love our chatty Eloise!

Deep Fried Thanksgiving

We had the Thanksgiving celebration at our house this year.  Terry and Nicole came and stayed for the long weekend and it was a great time.  We went to the corn maze and had some fun while trying not to freeze.

Leanne & Travis, Lonni &Tim, Jim & Barbara also joined in for the big dinner.  Once the table had been set Sam insisted in carrying his place setting around.
A little friendly competition was set girls (Nicole and I) with a traditional oven roasted turkey versus boy (Terry and Bryce) with the deep fried version.  We ended up calling a tie both turkeys were very delicious.
