For the Love of the Van

Last month Bryce flew out to NYC to pick us out a minivan...yep you heard me a minivan. Then he took a few days to drive it home, and after a few boarder adventures our Honda Odyssey made it safely to our parkade. Eloise loves riding in the van and especially exploring it when we are not driving. This is great when we are on our way somewhere but this is what happens when she has to leave the van...so sad.

FHE Picnic

For Family Home Evening (every Monday night we designate as one that is spent together as a family) this week we went on a picnic to enjoy some of the spring sunshine.

Eloise couldn't bear to sit and eat while there was a park in sight so she took her sandwich on the go (which is actually just a bun and she is trying to avoid the crust).

Sam enjoyed the swing so much that he almost fell asleep...thrilling!

I love my little family so much!

Aloha Grandma

My mother turned 50 this weekend, but since she is getting anew kitchen for her birthday we celebrated last weekend. We had a Hawaiian birthday bash !

Getting all dressed up for the evenings events.

It is a good thing that grandma had some help with the candles.

As one of the games we each looked through some of my mom's old photo albums and tagged pictures that we wanted to hear a story about. It was wonderful to hear my mom reminisce and recall some of her sweet memories.
The photo albums ended up being a real hit all weekend and it was so special to see everyone think back on blessings especially grandma Rose. Eloise brought over her book and plopped herself right hear to be in on the action.

I love you mom and I feel so blessed you as a shining example in my life of righteous womanhood.

Welcome Home Jodie

My sister Jodie went to Spain for an exchange for 10 weeks and last weekend we were able to go with my mom and dad to meet her at the airport. Before we went to meet her we had another birthday dinner for Bryce.

This is Eloise watching our (her) ipod and having a special treat while waiting for grandma and grandpa.

Welcome back Jo we missed you!

Happy Birthday Bryce

Bryce turned 35 last weekend and we had a fun but not so smooth celebration. I was planning to BBQ steaks which went well until the propane ran out and we had to use the broiler. Then I discovered that I forgot to buy sour cream which is a must have on baked potatoes in our house...so to Macs I went. By the time we were eating Eloise who had been sick all week was loosing party patience. So the present unwrapping, singing and blowing out candles all happened at grumpy toddler speed...fast. We sure do love having kids it guarantees that our days are never dull. Love you Bryce!

I did successfully make party shirts for the kids from this tutorial I read. This gift I think was more for me than Bryce.

This is Eloise playing her favorite game at bath time. While we are filling the bath she loves running away and being chased, this continues with each item of clothing we remove until she is naked running through the house....good times.
