Broken Again!

So don't judge us but Eloise broke her arm again this spring. It happened at my mom's house while the family was all gathered for Brett's homecoming dinner. As a side note the last time she broke her arm was also at my mom's house while everyone was gathered in the summer....what a coincidense! Anyway she was playing outside and come in for some chips, but while going down the patio stairs she lost her balance and fell down the three stairs. We were already planning to leave that evening and since the hospital in Medicine Hat didn't properly cast her last time we knew to take her home and to the children's hospital in Calgary. After a long night Bryce brought her home at 3:00 am with no cast. The doctor surveyed her arm and had her elbow x-rayed. After the stretching the x-ray caused she seemed to be doing better and so she was sent home saying she had pulled her elbow.

By Wednesday I was still quite concerned. Eloise was asking for 'medicine' every 6 hours and waking up crying many times during the night. She was grumpy during the days and could not cope with anything (much like she acted last time she had an unknown broken arm). So I took her in to the children's hospital again. After a few hours Bryce came to relieve me due to a primary meeting I had scheduled. They re x-rayed her arm and found a break in her forearm(which was not x-rayed on the first visit). By 4:00 pm she was home with a lovely pink cast and stories of the the delicious Popsicle and muffin she had.

After 3 weeks of a beautiful pink cast Eloise became more and more uncomfortable with the it. One morning she was trying particularly hard to itch under it and she pushed it right off. So back to the children's hospital we go. Luckily she was scheduled to have it off within the next week and the doctor was sure her arm had healed enough. Unluckily she had an allergic reaction to the cast glue and her whole arm was a big rash. Thankfully it did clear up after a few day and now we are back to normal. Hopefully this will be our last break for a long while!

The Week After

We stayed the week after Brett coming home with Leanne and Travis who were lovely hosts in their beautiful new home. Here are a few snippets of a fun filled week.

We bought all the kiddies matching outfits for church and tried to take a cute picture. As you can see the best shot we got did not include all happy faces.

This is how we found Sam after Sunday dinner. What could be more fun snow, dirt, a shovel and a face covered in Doritos.

The Return of Uncle Brett

We feel so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I love that my kids were able to be a part of the homecoming of their uncle Brett who served a 2 year mission in Vancouver, BC for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. We got to be at the airport in Medicine Hat when Brett arrived home. The kids wore matching shirts with name tags (so Brett would know who was who) and balloons which were a constant source of joy and tears throughout the week.

Micheal's Birthday

We love birthday's and we were lucky enough to be in Edmonton to celebrate Micheal turn 4!

Nicole made the cutest cake 'a balloon bear cake' as requested by the birthday boy.

The little boys were finally big enough to fit into their tuxedos and although they were hard to pin down they were so cute! Thank you Aunt Charlotte.

Valentine's Day

Am I ever behind on the blogging...Yikes! February was was a great celebration of love

Eloise loves the spanish song that plays at the end of the credits of Toy Story 3 when Buzz and Jessie dance. At one point in the song Jessie puts a flower in her mouth and now everytime we dance to this tune Eloise must do the same. Sam is even catching on a goes to get a flower for himself now...so cute!

The kids and I made Valentines for Bryce and surprised him at work with some heart shaped pizza, cookies and our valentines. Here are some shots of the work in progress:

Bryce also made me a delicious steak dinner (on February 15 due to some unexpected illness). I love being cooked for and I love you Bryce.

Sam's Birthday #2

Sam's second first birthday celebration with the Palmer's was a few days later. We had all the Calgary Palmer's over to have Sam's favorite foods: chicken finger's (hand made by Bryce with plenty of dipping sauce choices), mac and cheese, grapes and chocolate milk. We had a balloon theme and filled up a bunch of helium balloons. This may have resulted in some high pitched conversations among cousins.

Hyrum loved collecting all the balloons but never did float away.

Sam got his very own recliner and felt like such a big boy. Now there is less crying over the one chair we had...2 is better than 1.

Sam's Birthday #1

Sam was on lucky 1 year old and had 2 birthday parties this year. The first was on his actual day of birth January 14 with his Salmon grandparents. We had a delicious Pizza Friday party. We are so blessed to have Sam as part of our family we love his fun adventurous spirit.

Grandma and Grandpa got him this cool truck and the picture only half shows how much he loved it. he pushed the buttons and got on and off all night and then it was the first thing he did the next morning.

He was very spoiled with so many fun gifts thanks everyone!

I made cake pops for the occasion which turned out pretty yummy and fun to eat. I did forget to buy some foam to display them in and so we stole some packing foam from the printer and made it look as cute as possible.
